Royal Getaway
11-Oct-23
For our last day in Portugal, we joined a group tour and traveled to Sintra - for a royal beach vacay! Built out of the ruins of a former monastery from the Middle Ages, in the mid-1800s, the King Consort of Portugal designed an eclectic castle worthy of Willy Wonka! Each twist and turn of a room is designed differently in either Romantic, Neo-Gothic, Manueline, Islamic, or Renaissance style.

After Sintra, we drove to Azenhas Do Mar for a peak at how gorgeous the Atlantic is!
We then visited the western-most point on the European continent: Cabo Da Roca. We got a brief glimpse of the cliffs when the fog momentarily cleared.
Our last stop was to the beach town of Caiscais where we were able to briefly dip our toes in the Atlantic Ocean before heading back to Lisbon.
