Porto Dia Dois
5-Oct-23
Nick got to achieve a soccer milestone by attending a Champions League game in Europe! We saw Porto vs. Barcelona at Dragão Stadium & even though Porto lost, the massive home crowd was passionate & celebratory. It was a great game & we lucked out by getting seats right behind the Barça team bench when they scored the only goal of the game!
Before leaving Porto, we headed to the top of the Clérigos Church Tower, a 75m-high ornate Baroque bell tower that was designed by an Italian architect whose bargain basement price of $0 to build the structure came with one stipulation: he had to be buried underneath it.

Our last stop was to squeeze in a visit to the Soares dos Reis National Museum - the first of its kind in Portugal - focusing on the history of Portuguese art (mostly 19th century).
